easyJet created the Spirit Awards for the people who have helped make us one of the most successful airlines in the world: our employees. There are people within easyJet who do great things every day, and so we created the awards to recognise the contribution they make.
On 2nd February we held our first annual Spirit Awards Event, a celebration of Orange Spirit – that special something that gives easyJet people the X-factor.
It was a great evening of celebration, with some of the stars of hit London show ‘La Soiree’ wowing the crowd with their sword-swallowing and aerial-acrobatic skills.
On the night we handed out sixteen awards to our greatest stars. We asked our customer to help identify those crew members that give exceptional customer service by nominating them for a Spirit Award via spirit.easyJet.com, and hundreds of nominations came flooding in. Overall you chose Liverpool crew member Graeme Hughes as our Cabin Crew Customer Star of the Year, so a big “Thank You” from us.
You also nominated hundreds of easyJet pilots for their great customer service, with Edinburgh’s Captain Stephen Howard winning Pilot Customer Star of the Year.
Gala Pirani was also crowned the winner of the ‘Spirit of easyJet Award’. Gala used to fly as cabin crew based at Milan Malpensa, until a road accident left her with several life-threatening injuries. Although her injuries have left her unable to operate as crew, her dedication to easyJet has remained strong. She is currently working as an administrator at Malpensa base, and looking forward to flying again in the future. Because she is so motivated to get back where she belongs at 35,000 feet, we have named an aircraft in her honour.
Please continue to log on to http://spirit.easyJet.com to tell us which of our cabin crew and pilots have the Orange Spirit.

Thanks for your great effort guys!
